PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate need of a temporary retaining wall, prevent floating of a provided pit by underground water without placing a mass quantity of concrete at a site of a high underground water level, and achieve advantages with relation to cost. SOLUTION: Plural holes having a larger depth than a height of a pit to be formed are bored at a proper interval around a site 1 matching the pit, cement mixture is charged into the holes 2 for foot protection, H-steels 4 are constructed and fixed in such a way that their recessed parts face each other, and a lateral sheet pile 6 is added to the side of a natural ground 5 between the adjacent H-steels 4. A form is installed on the pit hole side of the H-steels 4, concrete is charged into a space formed by the form, and the recessed part 4a side of the H-steel 4, and the lateral sheet pile 6, thereby a pit wall 11 is formed with the H-steel 4 and the lateral sheet pile 6.
