PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new primer in order to detect Saccharomyces diastaticus. ;SOLUTION: This primer for amplifying a gene comprises an oligonucleotide having a base sequence of a part selected from a region containing a sequence having an ultrahigh homology with at least either of nucleotide sequences S1 and S2 possessed by Saccharomyces cerevisiae and a region containing a sequence having an ultrahigh homology with a nucleotide sequence of a glucoamylase gene SGA of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae or an oligonucleotide having a base sequence complementary to the oligonucleotide in a glucoamylase gene STA1 of Saccharomyces diastaticus. The primer is capable of providing a specific amplification reactional product by a gene amplifying reaction when a gene of the Saccharomyces diastaticus is present in a sample.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
