PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator formed in a recessed shape wit particularly small CI(crystal impedance) for high frequency.;SOLUTION: In the crystal oscillator, an oscillation area with thickness smaller than that of an outer peripheral part by providing a recessed part on a main surface of a crystal chip is formed, excitation electrodes are formed on both main surfaces of the oscillation area and a lead-out electrode is extended from the oscillation area to the outer peripheral part. The thickness of the electrode is made larger than that of the excitation electrode and the lead-out electrode is extended from the excitation electrodes within a range of angles of ± 45 degrees ≤ 90 degrees from the center to a center line of the excitation electrodes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
