PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real hard copy in which an image having a boundary area with different image surface states such as glossiness is recorded, to which an observer does not feel unnatural contours on the boundary area or which has sharpness in the boundary area and to further provide a method and a device for creating the hard copy. PSOLUTION: The hard copy 10 has a boundary area A where the image surface states are changed according to image information in the image in an image area of the recorded image, changes of the image surface states are emphasized or suppressed in the boundary area A. In addition, in the case of creating the hard copy 10, an edge area in the image is extracted based on the image information, the image is recorded by adjusting image surface information so that the image surface states in the image area are emphasized or suppressed along the edge area.
