PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously transfer read image data and printed image data whose transfer directions are different from each other through a common image bus. SOLUTION: In this digital copying machine which is provided with transfer means 129 and 153 that transfer the read image data to an external computer and also transfer the printed image data to a scanner 122, and where the scanner 122 and a printer 134 are connected to the means 129 and 153 through the common image bus 190, detecting means 123 and 151 detecting an unused signal line among a plurality of signal lines constituting the image bus in the case of transferring the printed image data A selecting means 127 transmitting the read image data by using the unused signal line can transfer the read image data from the scanner 122 to the external computer even when the printed image data are transferred to the printer 134 from the external computer.
