PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage exchange of electronic money between members of an organization and others outside the organization without spoiling the use environment of electronic transaction of the members of the organization.;SOLUTION: Electronic money distributed over a LAN 20 is limited to local electronic money which is effective only on this network. When a terminal NLU 4 connected to the LAN 20 sends money to a terminal NWU 2 connected to a WAN 10 at GW 1 which controls the distribution of data between the LAN 20 and WAN 10, local electronic money sent from the NLU 4 is received and converted into electronic money circulated on the WAN 10 and sent to the terminal NWU 2; when the terminal NWU 2 sends money to the terminal NLU 4, electronic money sent from the terminal NWU 2 is received and converted into local electronic money, which is sent to the terminal NLU 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
