PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polypeptide, Endothelial and Smooth muscle cell-Derived Neuropilin-like molecule ( hereinafter, abbreviated as ESDN), a production method thereof, a cDNA encoding ESDN, a vector comprising the cDNA, a host cell transformed with the vector, an antibody to ESDN, a pharmaceutical composition containing ESDN or the antibody, a method for measuring ESDN, a reagent for measuring ESDN and a method for screening using ESDN. PSOLUTION: Disclosed are the novel polypeptide ESDN, the production method thereof, the cDNA encoding ESDN, the vector comprising the cDNA, the host cell transformed with the vector, the antibody to ESDN, the pharmaceutical composition containing ESDN or the antibody. Since the ESDN protein of the present invention is expressed in coronary arterial cells and smooth muscle cells or expressed in the vascular smooth muscle of artery injured with balloon and in the media of common carotid artery, the ESDN protein is useful for treatment for restenosis after PTCA and arteriosclerosis in circulatory organ region.
