PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus, by which dip coatings to a plurality of cylindrical bodies are performed all at once.;SOLUTION: In the coating method for forming a coating film on the cylindrical bodies by dipping a plurality of the cylindrical bodies into a coating vessel hosuing a coating liquid all at once and then drawing up them, the coating vessel is an assembly of a plurality of dip coating liquid vessels provided right under the correspondent respective cylindrical bodies, all of a plurality of the cylindrical bodies are arranged in a space closed in the upper side and surrounded by a flexible hood in the side, the space has an opening part formed in the lower side to discharge a coating liquid solvent vapor generated during the dip coating or the tack free drying. The cylindrical bodies are dipped into the coating liquid in the respective coating liquid vessels in the flexible hood and after that, drawn up at a constant speed or a successively changing speed to be linked with the flexible hood and when the cylindrical bodies are at a standstill after being drawn up, the lower end of the flexible hood is kept as the same level as or lower level than the lower end of the cylindrical bodies.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
