PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium nickelate used for a lithium secondary battery having excellent low temperature output as an active material and having large primary particle diameter. PSOLUTION: The lithium nickelate is composed of a secondary particle formed by gathering large sized primary particles. Because the lithium nickelate is composed of a secondary particle formed by gathering large sized primary particles, the lithium secondary battery having excellent low temperature output characteristic is obtained when the lithium nickelate is used as a positive electrode active material of the battery.
