PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railroad crossing obstacle detecting device capable of highly accurately detecting an obstacle while widely covering the inside of a railroad crossing. SOLUTION: In this railroad crossing obstacle detecting device where at least a pair of left and right cameras 11a and 11b are arranged toward a monitoring area in the railroad crossing, left and right images of the monitoring area acquired by these cameras are acquired, a change part in the images is extracted by an unsteady area discriminating method (picture change detection by a single eye) by using one image of the left and right images as first stage processing, and when the change part is extracted, and the obstacle in the monitoring area is detected by verifying an image of the change part by a plane projection steroscopic method using the left and right images as second stage processing, a synchronous means 20 is arranged for synchronizing so that the left and right images become a photographing image of the same timing in the images of the cameras, this synchronous means is composed of a synchronizing signal generating means 22 for generating a synchronizing signal and delay adjusting means 21a and 21b, and the pair of left and right cameras are used by being adjusted by these delay adjusting means.
