PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric structural protecting member effectively suppressing erosion and corrosion by the flashing arc.;SOLUTION: The electric structural member protecting from flashing arc is provided with a columnar insulating body, a first current-carrying system which can be at a first potential, and a second current-carrying system fitted at a leg part of the insulating body which can be at a second potential. The both current-carrying systems have arc electrodes (7), each for diverting aside flashing arc generated at discharge between the both systems. When at least one of the both arc electrodes (4, 7) is formed in a scyphiform shape, and has a scyphiform vessel bottom part (12) fixed to current terminals (3, 6) of either the first or the second current-carrying systems and a scyphiform vessel wall part (13) continued from the scyphiform vessel bottom part (12) extended almost along the direction of the axis line (2) of the insulating body, the flashing arc is especially effectively diverted. At least two material punching parts extended from the scyphiform vessel bottom part (12) toward scyphiform vessel edge parts (9, 10) installed almost along the periphery direction are formed inside the scyphiform vessel wall part (13).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
