PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst material for catalytic combustion capable of rapidly reaching a high temperature to start oxidation reaction in a short time, and an applied process thereof.;SOLUTION: A noble metal such as platinum, palladium, or rhodium is dispersed on a carrier having a high specific surface area. A fuel such as an alcoholic compound or a hydrocarbon and a proper quantity of air or oxygen are provided to this boron nitride-supporting noble metal catalyst at room temperature, and brought into contact with the noble metal catalyst to raise the temperature to 500-1000°C. Thereafter, the charging rates of the fuel and air are adjusted depending on the temperature used, or a neutral material such as hydrocarbon, water, carbon dioxide or nitrogen is mixed thereto, whereby the combustion heating value is increased or decreased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
