PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for detecting the stall of a compressor or the sign of surge.;SOLUTION: In this method and system, at least one compressor parameter is monitored, and the raw data representing at least one compressor parameter is acquired. The raw data are preprocessed by using a frequency demodulating device 36, 136 to create the preprocessed data, and the preprocessed data are postprocessed by using a Kalman filter 40 to acquire the stall signal. The preprocessing stage includes a stage for rejecting an undesired signal by performing the prefiltering processing to a time-series analyzed data acquired from the compressor parameter, a stage for creating a demodulated signal having an amplitude corresponding to an instantaneous frequency of a partial dominant component of an input signal by demodulating the frequency of the filtered signal, and a stage for reducing the noise interference by performing the low-pass filtering processing to the demodulated signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
