PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rod of a nonmagnetic sulfur free-cutting stainless steel superior in cold drawability and corrosion resistance.;SOLUTION: The wire rod of a nonmagnetic sulfur free-cutting stainless steel comprises, by mass%, 0.02-0.08% C, 0.1-1.0% Si, 2.0-5.0% Mn, 0.03-0.15% P, 0.1-0.25% S, 0.001-0.02% B, 7-12% Ni, 19-22% Cr, 0.1-3.5% Cu, 0.05-0.22% N, 0.005-0.015% O, 0.005% or less Al, and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities and has a value M of -100 (%) or less. The wire rod further includes one or more elements from among, by mass%, 0.1-2.5% Mo, 0.0005-0.01% Ca, 0.0005-0.01% Mg, and 0.0005-0.01% Zr, as needed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
