Negative active material for non-aqueous rechargeable battery, and non-aqueous rechargeable battery including same

The negative active material for a non-aqueous rechargeable battery includes a main component of lithium vanadium oxide, and at least one selected from the group consisting of Li₃VO₄, vanadium carbide, and mixtures thereof. The Li₃VO₄ is included in an amount of 0.5 to 3.0 wt % based on the total weight of the negative active material, and the vanadium carbide is included in amount of 0.5 wt % or less based on the total weight of the negative active material. The negative active material can improve discharge capacity of the non-aqueous rechargeable battery.
