COMPOSITION FOR USE IN PRODUCTION OF A CUBIC BORO NITRETE COMPACT, METHOD OF PRODUCING A CUBIC BORO NITRETE COMPACT, AND, TOOL INSERT. A composition for use in the production of a CBN compact comprising from about 45 to about 75 vol% of CBN, wherein CBN is composed of particles of more than an average particle size, preferably bimodal; a secondary hard phase including a group 4, 5 or 6 transition metal nitride, carbonitride or carbide-containing compound, or a solid mixture or solution thereof, and a binder phase.
