The invention also relates to a process of change of physical characteristics of the inputs and outputs of the programmable logic controller.The architecture of the invention allows the hardware of a programmable controller (PC) can be reconfigured, performing different functions of control, regardless of the application software.The changes of the physical behaviour of the hardware are configured by the load on the controller of a dedicated file (FPGA), specific for each function to be executed, performed by the user of the CP, a new process for applications with FPGA.The reprogramming of hardware occurs so that this pattern is decoded and processed by the programmable integrated circuit (FPGA) without requiring modification of actual components that make up the hardware.
