Reversible Hydrogen Storage Process in Ionic Liquid Based Molecular Reservoirs The present invention describes reversible hydrogen storage processes in ionic liquids. In a preferred aspect, ionic liquids result from the junction of the imidazolic cation with the cyclohexane ring, providing molecular structures capable of storing significant amounts of hydrogen, and their recovery is obtained by simply heating the hydrogenated derivatives in the presence of catalysts. The process of the invention is safe, clean and economical, and meets the demands of negligible vapor pressure, high density, no flammability and high thermal stability.
