The invented separation process is characterized in that liquid processing flows containing such particles are subjected to filtration through a candle-type filter with a lower accumulation portion until a prescribed filter pressure drop amounting within 200 to 300 kPa wherein the mixture included in the filter lower accumulation portion and containing separated particles and processing liquid residues is treated with an expelling medium at a temperature ranging from 50 to 200 degC for a period of 10 to 60 minutes. The expelling medium expels from the accumulated amount of solid particles the residual free liquid. Subsequently a treatment with rinsing liquid takes place at a temperature ranging from 20 to 100 degC for a period of 3 to 10 hours and heavier hydrocarbons C8+ trapped on the solid particles are extracted therefrom. Subsequently steam, being 180 to 250 degC hot, is used for a period of 5 to 10 hours to strip off all the remaining hydrocarbons and then cooling from the temperature of 200 degC down to 20 degC takes place for a period of several hours to dry the solid particles to atmospheric moisture and to cool them to ambient temperature. In the present invention there is further described an apparatus for separating solid particles from processing flows in the refining-petrochemical industry.
