A PROCESS FOR THE DETOXIFICATION OF CHLORPYRIFOS RESIDUES IN DRINKING WATER

The invention relates to the detoxification and removal of chlorpyrifos insecticide Ironr drinking water first by treatment with an organic reagent in/ under specified condition in a microwave oven. The detoxified chlorpyrifos, unreacted/remaining organic product and residual catalyst could be removed by passing through a column. The process could successfully remove the pesticide residue from water and did not leave any other toxic substance above safe limit.
