FIELD KIT FOR THE MULTIPLICATION OF INSECT LARVAL PARASITOID

The field releases of insect parasitoid require their mass multiplication in laboratory which is labour intensive process. The present invention is for the multiplication of insect larval parasitoid directly at the targeted sites. It comprises a platform (FIG. 1, 1) containing insect rearing chambers (FIG. 1, 3 and 6) provided with insect multiplication media. The platform is covered with a roof (FIG. 1, 20) for protection from rains and sunlight. This platform is connected with a vertical upright (FIG. 1, 16) having a telescopic arrangement for adjusting the height of the platform and to have additional platform(s) on it. This arrangement provides a readily available food source and an alternative oviposition site to the parasitoid, allowing them to increase in abundance in the crop fields or store godowns so that they may control the insect pest population present on the crops or on the store products.
