Access control system using mobile phone with NFC technology, compares authorization information on server with identification codes for phone and electronic lock

The NFC (Near Field Communication) apparatus (6) and/or the electronic lock (9) are provided with a first identification code, and the mobile phone (4) is provided with a second identification code. The central server (1) contains authorization information relating to which person or mobile phone has access, to which access point such access is allowed, and optionally when this access is allowed. The access control method comprises the following steps: (A) the NFC apparatus sends the first code to the phone via the NFC connection (5) if the phone is held in the proximity of this apparatus; (B) upon receiving the first code, the phone sends the second code to the central server via a public phone network (3); (C) the server checks the two codes with the authorization information; (D) if the person with the phone has access via the access point with the first code then the server sends a report to the phone via the public phone network; (E) upon receiving the report, the phone sends a report to the NFC apparatus via the NFC connection between the phone and this apparatus; (F) the NFC apparatus deactivates the lock and/or the electronic lock is deactivated to allow access.
