An information system allowing remote querying of work rosters and submitting of time off requests

An information system that enables a user to access their work roster or make time off requests from a mobile communications device is disclosed. The system includes an internet capable mobile communications device for accessing a database on a remote server. A user can query the database and the requested data is coded in a native language which can be interpreted by the mobile communications device without loading specific application software. The coded data can be sent from the server to the mobile communications device for interpretation and display.
