Surprinsingly, it has been discovered that the core protein antigen of Toscana virus can induce a protective humoral response. The invention relates to compositions comprising Toscana virus nucleoprotein. These may be used in the treatment or prophylaxis of Toscana virus infection. Also provided is the use of an internal virus antigen in the manufacture of a medicament for eliciting a neutralising humoral anti-viral immune response.
