A method for surgical treatment of the aorta coarctation comprises the resection of the narrowed part of the descending aorta followed by anastomosing the separated proximal and distal segments of aorta. The longitudinal cut is made in the proximal segment starting from the resection plane of the segment and finishing at the site where the hypoplastic segment is terminated. The distal segment is resected at the plane inclined to the axis of the segment at the angle providing for the length of the cut in the segment equaling the total length of the longitudinal cut and the length of the resected proximal segment of aorta.
