A method for selecting the treatment in psychoemotional disorders associated with climacteric in the patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 provides for accounting the menopausal index of psychoemotional disorders. When the index is below 11, the replacement hormonal therapy is selected. When the index falls within 11-14 range, the psychotropic drugs are also prescribed. When the index exceeds 14, the psychotropic therapy is provided by the psychiatrist.
