A method of assessment of power flow between the substations (aggregates) of the systems of power supply of transport with use of overhead system of direct current, at which control equipment is installed at theoretical point of current division, then measurement of the difference of potentials between rail and earth at theoretical point of current division is performed, value and direction of flow in the track circuit are measured, the total value of the current is defined, which characterizes power flow between traction substations (aggregates), which feed the adjacent sections of overhead electric transport power line as the sum of measured current in the track circuit and of current of discharge.
