The present invention relates to a device for determining an anticipation ability for a driver of a vehicle at a traffic situation. The device comprises means for determining whether the vehicle driver is taking a first measure, said first measure being a vehicle braking measure or a measure for take off of a positive motor torque counteracting said first measure. Further, the device comprises means for determining a first time at which said measure is finished, means for determining a second time at which the driver is taking a measure counteracting said finished measure, means for receiving at least one reference parameter value representing the vehicle surroundings, or at least one parameter value from at least one vehicle internal sensor with which a reference parameter value representative for the vehicle surroundings can be determined, and means for comparing a value representing the difference between said second time and said first time with the reference parameter value, and based on the comparison determine a parameter value representing the driver's anticipation ability.
