The present invention encompasses a beam section-related arrangement (1 ) where a first beam section union (20) and a second beam section union (30) are adapted, fixedly but readily releasably fixed to one another end-to-end (4), to permit the formation of one or more carriageway sections (22, 22'). Thus formed carriageways (2a, 2a') are formed from beam sections (2, 2') oriented in parallel, placed in spaced apart relationship from one another, and preferably given a "U"-shaped cross section, and with a number of sleepers (3) oriented to the beam sections and fixed and/or fixable thereto, transversely oriented and formed as rails, and under the utilisation of fishplates (4, 4'). A formed carriageway (2a, 2a') is given an upper surface portion (2d) oriented between upstanding shanks (2b, 2c) for the "U"-shaped cross section, for a support surface (2g) intermediate oriented of the lower edge portions (2e, 2f) of the shanks. In any event the one shank (2b) of a beam section is adapted so as to cooperate with a means (10 and/or 11) increasing the width dimension "d" of the beam section, and that said means is adapted in order, where necessary, to serve as a supporting carrying surface (10b, 11 b) facing towards an existing substrate ("C"), adapted for supportingly cooperating with the carriageway sections. The means (10, 11) may with buoyancy facilitate the laying out of the beams section unions (20, 30) or alternatively facilitate their recovery.
