The metal surfaces of the belt is prepared by cleaning. A vulcanization primer is coated onto them. Unvulcanized rubber is applied in strip form. The rubber is then vulcanized under pressure and increased temperature. Cleaning is by sandblasting the metal surface. A metal primer is applied after cleaning, before the vulcanization primer. After cleaning and before applying the rubber, a single-layer bonding agent is applied . The belt comprises steel or stainless steel. The unvulcanized rubber is natural or synthetic. The rubber is nitrile rubber (NBR), silicon rubber, fluorinated rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber. The equipment used, vulcanizes rubber (ELA) onto the metal belt (BAN). The belt is led between press plates (PRE), of which the upper plate (OBE) includes a recess (AUS). This corresponds with the finished rubber profile after vulcanization. A tubular pressurization component (DRU), filled with air, water or oil, is located between the insulation (ISO) and casing (GEH). It is this which produces the pressure.
