The unit has a surface sensor (1) with lines (L1-L3) that have uniform sensitivity with respect to parameters such as spectral sensitivity, black to white sensitivity and/or brightness/darkness sensitivity, of an image to be recorded. The lines (L1-L3) are connected to a number of storage units (AR1-ARq) for periodic storage of line information that is read from the lines. The storage units correspond to another set of lines of the surface sensor. The lines (L1-L3) are controlled based on their storage function using a control unit (2).
