Burr formation monitoring method in part drilling processes, based on internal signals associated with the captured torque of the spindle motor regulator to detect the formation of unwanted burrs during drilling processes. It has been shown that five characteristics of the signal are associated with the height of the burr, while being relatively insensitive to the process parameters. Experiments have been carried out on Al 7075-T6 aeronautical aluminum under high speed conditions.
