Monostatic Lidar (laser radar) system made entirely of semiconductor components of less than 10 W power to measure aerosol position and density. A prototype is presented for a monostatic Lidar system entirely in semiconductor solid state technology capable of measuring the position and density of aerosols present in the atmosphere. The principle of operation is based on the coded transmission of signals, formed by sequences of bits chosen suitably, by means of a semiconductor laser and the light from which it is dispersed by airborne particles. The range of distances that this moment prototype can measure is in the 5 Km. To do this it uses a semiconductor laser transmitter, an optical set for the emission and reception of the signal, a photodiode-based receiver, and control electronics and information processing based on the digital signal processors, which allows the configuration and elaboration of the emitted codes and the detection and processing of the received signal.
