Use of docosahexaenoic acid for the treatment of oxidative cell damage. The present invention relates to the use of docosahexaenoic acid for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of oxidative cell damage. The administration of DHA has the following substantial advantages: a) Increase in cellular antioxidant activity; b) Absence of cellular cytotoxicity at the administered doses; c) Absence of significant changes in the cellular oxidative status at the administered doses; and d) Adaptive cellular antioxidant activity.
