Microcapsules with average diameters in the range of 0.001 to 0.5 mm, consisting of a double enveloping membrane and a matrix containing the active products, obtainable (a) obtaining a solution of at least one active product in an appropriate solvent, (b) mixing the solution with a polysaccharide, (c) mixing the matrix thus obtained with a chitosan solution at pH values in the range of 6 to 8, (d) releasing the microcapsules obtained in this way from solvent, and (e) being treated with a solution of a non-ionic film-forming polymer.
