Process for manufacturing a mold piece that has a main curved surface that supports a utilitarian microstructure, comprising: a) providing a master piece (1) that has a flat main surface that supports a utility microstructure (2); b) transferring said utility microstructure (2) from the main surface of the masterpiece to a main surface of a flat cured elastomeric film (5); c) recovering the flat cured elastomeric film (5) having a main surface (6) that supports a duplicate of said utilitarian microstructure (2); d) provide an article (8) master presenting a surface (9) main curve to be duplicated; e) applying a curable coating composition (10) or: - on the surface (9) main curve of the master article (8), or - on the main surface (6) that supports the duplication of said utilitarian microstructure (2) of the flat cured elastomeric film (5), or - on both main surfaces, f) placing the main surface (6) that supports the duplication of said utilitarian microstructure (2) of the flat cured elastomeric film (5) and the surface (9) main curve of article (8) master one in front of the other; g) pressing said cured elastomeric film (5) and said master article (8) against each other so that the overall shape of said cured elastomeric film (5) is adjusted to the curved shape of the main surface (9) of the article (8) master and the curable coating composition (10) extends between the main curved surface (9) of the master article (8) and the main surface (6) that supports the duplication of said utilitarian microstructure (2) of the film (5) cured elastomeric; h) curing the coating composition (10); i) removing the cured elastomeric film (5) and recovering a hard coated article having a main curved surface (9) coated with a hard coating (10) having an exposed main surface (11) that supports a transferred utilitarian microstructure; j) depositing a layer of a metal or a metal alloy (12) on said exposed main surface (11) of the hard coating of the master article (8); and k) recovering said metal or metal alloy layer to obtain a mold piece (13) having a main curved surface (14) that supports a duplicate of said transferred utility microstructure.
