The invention relates to a method and group of elements for the regulated expression of genes in eukaryotic cells in response to an exogenous effector molecule. The regulation method involves the dual inducing action of the exogenous effector molecule on the activity of a transcriptional activator and on the intracellular levels thereof. The activator regulates the expression of the target gene to be expressed by activating the promoter responsible for controlling said target gene. The invention is suitable for use in fields involving the use of eukaryotic organisms as models for studying the function of genes thereof or as biotechnological tools for producing biomolecules of scientific, therapeutic or industrial interest. The aforementioned technology is particularly suitable for use in the regulated expression of genes in eukaryotic microorganisms such as Saccharomyces cerevisiaeyeast.
