The material comprises a hydroxide layer of trivalent cations. The plates are loaded positively and unite across bulky acid anions acting as pillar spacers between the plates and offset the load. The material is prepared in hydrothermal soft conditions, in a solution of a salt containing an acidic trivalent cation and bulky organic or inorganic salt of these acids.
