DENTAL COLOUR SYSTEM AND METHOD TO PRODUCE DENTAL PROSTHESIS COLOURS

The invention relates to a dental colour system comprising primary and mixedcolours withassigned coordinates in the CIElab colour space, in which the colours ofnatural teeth areessentially located on coordinates within an ellipsoid-shaped space, which isassigned alongitudinal axis. In order for the colour system to consist of a small numberof primary andmixed colours and to allow an optimum colour adaptation to the natural teethsurrounding thedental prosthesis, it is proposed that the primary colours consist of firstprimary colours and atleast one group of second primary colours, that the coordinates of the firstprimary colours bepositioned on the longitudinal axis of the ellipsoid-shaped space or on a baseline extendingfrom light to dark in the CIElab space, that the coordinates of at least onegroup of secondprimary colours be positioned in a plane that perpendicularly intersects thelongitudinal axisor base line, and that the coordinates of mixed colours be intersection pointsof first andsecond straight lines, whereby at least one first straight line extendsparallel to thelongitudinal axis or base line and the respective second straight line is aconnection betweenthe coordinates of the first primary colour and the second primary colour.
