This invention relates to a hot melt binder based on asphalt or bitumen comprising at least two additives to lower the production temperature of the asphaltic product below the production temperature of the basic product, the first additive being a macromolecular compound and the second additive being a fatty acid derivative, a fatty acid diester and/or a fatty acid ether. This invention also relates to methods of preparation of an asphaltic product or bituminous chippings, in which the mix temperature is lower. Finally, this invention relates to an asphaltic product or bituminous chippings comprising a hot melt binder according to the invention. The invention also relates to the use of at least one of these additives to lower the production temperature and/or the application temperature of an asphaltic or bituminous product.
