Bone plate (1), in particular for the tibia, having an L-shaped form, which has a) a long arm (2) of length L, with longitudinal axis (7), an outer longitudinal edge defined by the left-handed or right-handed form of the L-shaped form and an opposing inner longitudinal edge (10, 11) and a mid-plane (20), and b) a short arm (3), perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (7) of the long arm (2), connected to the end thereof with a length I, a thickness DSUB3/SUB, aSUB/longitudinal axis (14) and a mid plane (21) and c) with a lower surface (4) for contact with the bone, an upper surface (5) and several plate holes (6) connecting the lower surface (4) to the upper surface (5) for housing bone fixation elements, wherein the mid plane(21) of the short arm (3) is inclined at an angle a 0° relative to the mid plane (20) of the longer arm (2), such that the lower surface (4) has a concave curve which can conform to a convex bone surface.
