IMS NETWORK AND ROUTING METHOD IN IMS NETWORK

An IP multimedia subsystem network is provided. The network includes calling packet network and called packet network, wherein the calling packet network sends a session request containing called number in E.164 format to the called packet network, and the called packet network translates the called number in E.164 format to packet identifier and routes the session request according to the translation result. A routing method in IMS network is further provided. According to the said network and method, since the calling equipment initiates a session request to the called equipment by E.164 number and the called packet network translates the E.164 number to corresponding packet identifier, routing is performed accurately and system performance is improved.
