A tooth implant used for a prosthetic supply with an area (I) shaped for permanent insertion into the jawbone and an adjoining connecting area (II) that supports the prosthetic supply. The tooth implant is characterized in that the connecting area (II) has been prepared in advance and consists of at least one ceramic area (3) with a core area (3a) and at least one outer area (4); in that the core area (3a) is at least partially enclosed by the outer area (4); in that the at least one outer area (4) is made of a machinable material for the preparation of a prosthetic supply; in that the ceramic material in the ceramic area (3) is harder than the outer area (4); and in that the material of the outer area (4) has a hardness corresponding to, or less than, that of natural tooth enamel.
