METHOD FOR THE QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF THE COLOCALIZATION OF MOLECULAR MARKERS IN TISSUE SECTIONS

The invention relates to a method for the quantitative determination of the colocalization of at least two molecular markers in tissue sections, especially in sections of cutaneous and mucosal tissue. The method of the invention is characterized by the following procedural steps: generation of a digital image of the tissue section for each of the at least two molecular markers for visualization of the respective molecular marker, superimposition of the digital images to give a summed image, pixelwise quantization of the molecular marker signal for each of the at least two molecular markers in the summed image, generation of a matrix, where a vector whose components are the quantized molecular marker signals of the at least two molecular markers is assigned to each pixel, and tissue-specific standardized alignment of the matrix. The invention further relates to an apparatus for the quantitative determination of the colocalization of at least two molecular markers in tissue sections, especially in sections of cutaneous and mucosal tissue, and to the use of the method of the invention.
