The present invention is in the field of emergency response systems for mobile security services and relates to methods and system components for the operation of an emergency response system for controlling operations by mobile services, with an operations centre which is set up to communicate with mobile security service providers when incoming alarm calls are received (410). To improve the quality and efficiency of the system components of emergency response systems, a method sequence is proposed as follows: a) a database entry for the alarm object associated with the incoming alarm is accessed (420) and the geographical position of the alarm object is determined (430), b) the entries in a database storing the respective current geographical position of the mobile security service providers are accessed (440), c) one or more security service providers whose stored geographical positions are relatively close in geographical terms to the alarm object is/are selected (450), d) an alerting message is sent (460) to the selected security service provider, specifying an identification for the alarm object, e) further supplementary information regarding more detailed characteristics of the alarm object is sent (480).
