The inventive pressure transmitter for transmitting the pressure of a medium comprises a metal pressure transmitter body (2) having a surface on the side of the medium, and a separating membrane (4) which is connected to the pressure transmitter body (2) in a pressure-tight manner along at least one edge so as to form a pressure chamber (5) between the separating membrane and the pressure transmitter body (2), wherein a channel (6) extends from the pressure chamber (5) through the pressure transmitter body (2), and the pressure chamber and the channel are filled with a transmission fluid in order to transmit the pressure of a medium, which is present at the separating membrane, to a pressure receiver, wherein at least one section of the channel (6) is produced using electrical discharge deep-hole drilling.
