The combustion engine is equipped for operation with the monovalent liquid gas which is a standard diesel gas engine having a diesel engine control device (2). An ignition system and a gas engine control device (10) are assigned to diesel engine. An electronic control device (25) is assigned to the diesel engine, which converts an initial value (7) of the diesel enginecontrol device into an input value (26) of the gas engine control device.
