The invention relates to a method of producing a composite part having a multicoloured surface and to a composite part having a multicoloured surface. The method according to the invention contains the steps: (a) producing a multicoloured plastic film (2a) which has a groove (6) in the area (3) of the coloured regions (4, 5) adjacent to one another, (b) positioning the plastic film (2a) in a cavity (8) of a tool (7), (c) partly drawing in (F1) the film regions (13, 14) lying along the groove (6) into the interior of the cavity (8) of the tool (7), with the film regions drawn into the interior of the cavity (8) simultaneously or subsequently being brought together (F2, F3) for closing a recess, produced by the partial drawing-in of the film, between the film and the surface of the tool (7), (d) back foaming and/or back moulding the film (2d). The invention enables composite parts to be produced with a neater parting line between the individual coloured regions.
