PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF A WEB-TYPE, LINOLEUM-LIKE MATERIAL AND WEB-TYPE MATERIAL

A process for production of a web-type, linoleum-like material (1) with a visible and outer layer (2) composed of renewable raw materials and with a backing layer (3), by mixing finely divided pieces of leather and/or leather powder with a binder, placing the mixture by way of example in an extruder, and extruding the mixture from the extruder onto a backing web, is intended to provide a process which not only gives a web-type material (1) lighter than conventional web-type materials, e.g. linoleum floorcoverings or other floorcoverings, but also provides versatile patterning capability and wet-cleaning capability. The intention is that use of a quite different process also gives a web-type material (1) whose production is simpler and less expensive than that of, for example, linoleum, and which is simpler to lay and maintain.
