Method of modifying aramid fibres and method of dyeing these fibres

Modifying aramid fibers to improve their ability to be dyed, comprises treating the fibers to lower the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the fibers at value Tg1 which is less than Tg; and contacting the fibers thus treated with a solution comprising nanoparticles at a temperature of = Tg1. An independent claim is included for a dyeing of aramid fibers comprising carrying out to modify aramid fibers and optionally contacting the fibers with dye, preferably when the nanoparticles not containing dye.
